Pattaya Beach covers 4 kilometers of white and beautiful sand, facing Pattaya Bay. This is the major take off point for boats visiting Pattaya’s nearby islands, Koh Lan, Koh Sak and Koh Krok. The northern area of the beach is tranquil and serene, while the southern and central points are becoming lively with loads of shops, restaurants, Pattaya hotels, beauty salons, department stores, supermarkets, bars, discotheques and nightclubs. Pattaya Beach is also a favorite destination for diving enthusiasts, as there are many well equipped dive shops with reasonable prices on offer.
Jomtien Beach is a 6-kilometer-long straight beach, 4 kilometers from South Pattaya city center. Jomtien Beach is one of the most well-known beaches in Pattaya, more popular among family vacationers, with an array of water activities for water sport enthusiasts. Some activities include windsurfing, yachting, parasailing and jet skiing. The area enjoys fresh breezes sweeping inland from the Gulf of Thailand. There are numerous Jomtien Beach hotels, resorts, restaurants and shops along the road facing the beach, so it is easy to find one that caters specifically for you at Jomtien Beach.
For a more relaxing atmosphere, a convenient short drive to the north will take you to Naklua Beach, a quiet and less congested beach. There are not as many luxury Naklua hotels and restaurants as to Pattaya Beach or Jomtien Beach, but travelers can spend a 10 bath ride on a Songthaew to find some good quality accommodations. This is the perfect place for those who would like to be away from the crowd, yet close enough to reach all Pattaya sightseeing attractions and highlights within a few minutes. Naklua is also close to Wong Amat Beach which is only a short five-minute drive from Pattaya Beach. Wong Amat Beach is not as crowded as Pattaya and there are some fine restaurants serving delicious and freshly caught seafood.
From Naklua Beach, travelers have easy access to Wong Prachan Beach, which is a secluded beach on the northern area of Pattaya Bay. It is also the entrance to the Central Wong Amat Beach Hotels. The beach is ideal for swimming and relaxation, also a great place to enjoy some fishing. Its long coast line with a fringe of coconut and palm trees offer travelers a pleasant and serene atmosphere. There is no shop or restaurant on the beach so don't forget to bring a picnic basket along. One famous attraction in this area is the Sanctuary of Truth, a gigantic, architecturally beautiful building that has been under construction for over 25 years.
