Hua Hin Beaches – with Wired Destinations
Hua Hin welcomes travelers from around the world to a memorable Thailand holiday experience. There are a number of fine Hua Hin beaches and the area around Prachuab Khiri Khan Province. Locals and international travelers visit Hua Hin for its friendly and laid back atmosphere. It is also easily reached from Bangkok, either by train, car, bus or air. At least 5 fine Hua Hin beaches are recommended as a great destination to spend a day out of town.
Hua Hin Beach
The white sandy Hua Hin beach stretches 7 kilometers long from the town center and Khao Takiab. The beach is highly developed compared to other Thai resort towns and can get quite crowded especially on weekends. However, with its size, travelers can easily find a quiet spot to put down their towels and relax. Deck chairs and tables are for hire. There is a choice of Thai massage, horseback riding and street vendors offering almost everything. Water sports are becoming more popular in Hua Hin, including jet skiing, kiteboarding and banana boats, making this tropical beach the best place to spend an enjoyable family vacation.
Khao Kalok is located 40 kilometers south of Hua Hin. Once you get there, you will find an array of restaurants set on the beach road, offering deliciously fresh seafood and cooling drinks. Prices for accommodation and food here is less expensive than for Hua Hin hotels and Cha Am beach hotels. During the week, Khao Kalok is quiet and relaxing but still gets packed during weekends. There is a cave on the south side with a large hole through its center. Swimming and bike rental are available.
Cha Am Beach
Cha Am Beach is approximately 30 kilometers north of Hua Hin town and is one of the most popular Hua Hin beaches with locals and visitors alike. Street vendors lined on one side of the beach road sell everything from delicious seafood to beautiful seashells. The beach area gets busy during weekends as locals and tourists from Bangkok visit and enjoy themselves on the soft sandy beach. Water activities are plentiful, from jet skiing to riding on banana boats and plunging in the ocean.
Khao Takiab Beach
Khao Takiab or 'Chopstick Hill' is located 7 kilometers south of Hua Hin. There is a temple at the top of the hill and troops of monkeys can be seen there. For this, sometimes the area is referred to as Monkey Mountain. The calm shallow waters at the beach behind the hill are ideal for children. It is also easily accessible as Songthaews (small trucks) run frequently from town to Khao Takiab. There are plenty of Hua Hin hotels, guesthouses and resorts on Khao Takiab.
Suan Son is situated 10 kilometers south of town. It is named after numerous pine trees that fringe the beach area. Though it is not as popular as Hua Hin or Cha Am, Suan Son's lovely beach is comparable with its stretching white clean beach amidst tranquil settings. This beachside area belongs to the Army Welfare Office, originally as a retreat for soldiers and veterans.
